Located in the southern portion of York Region, Richmond Hill is one of the fastest-growing communities in Canada, with a large multicultural population employed primarily in areas of business, finance, industry and healthcare.

Located here, the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts is a multi-use cultural facility offering diverse art and musical entertainment. The village is also the stage for the town's annual Heritage Festival and Santa Claus Parade, as well as York Region's annual Pride Parade.
