 Gay York Region social events

| Previously, our Gay York Region social events have been located exclusively in Richmond Hill and scheduled individually ... and somewhat erratically.
To make our events more predictable, commencing April 14th, we will be scheduling events on a regular calendar basis. And, to make them more accessible, this year we will be holding events in both Newmarket and Richmond Hill.
- In Newmarket, events will be held on the second Monday of each month, starting at 8pm. These dates deliberately coincide with Gay/Bi Men's Support Group meetings which run from 7pm-8pm on the same days. The intention here is to give guys the choice of attending either the meeting, or the social event, or both on the same evening. (More details about the Newmarket support group meetings can be found on the 'Resources' page).
- In Richmond Hill, social events will be on the last Thursday of each month, starting at 7pm.
One exception to this schedule will be in June, when social events in both Richmond Hill and Newmarket will be included within our Pride Week, between 16th-22nd June.
The precise dates for the next six months are therefore as follows:
Mon 14 April - Newmarket
Thu 24 April - Richmond Hill
Mon 12 May - Newmarket
Thu 29 May - Richmond Hill
Mon 16 June - Newmarket (Pride Week event)
Wed 18 or Thu 19 June - Richmond Hill (Pride Week event)
Mon 14 Jul - Newmarket
Thu 31 Jul - Richmond Hill
Mon 11 Aug - Newmarket
Thu 28 Aug - Richmond Hill
Mon 8 Sep - Newmarket
Thu 25 Sep - Richmond Hill

(Please make sure you include your first name, location, email address and preferably age.) I will then add you to our mailing list so that you will be kept up to date with details and venue information for our events.
Details of all pride week events will soon be published on http://www.yorkpridefest.com, but details of other events are only available via our mailing list.
Our social events are very informal, very welcoming to newcomers and attended by many people who come on their own. So, please don't worry about the fact that you might not know anyone else at the start. You won't be alone, and you'll never find a more friendly group of people. In addition our venues are usually the kind of places where you can arrive unnoticed, sit at another table, and spy on us before deciding to join us! |
